If restraints are too professional looking, I lose my interest in light BDSM. I admit that hardcore BDSM intimidates me, but playful-looking restraints intrigue me. I don't have the slightest clue why I make such a distinction - it's just one of those unexplainable preferences. The Japanese Restraint Kit is exactly what I like about restraints, and, hey, it comes with a free blindfold that isn't the best, but is better than a lot of blindfolds that can be purchased.
The non-chaff wrist/ankle cuffs (the cuffs can be used for either wrist or ankle restraints) spoke volumes to me. I am not a fan of inflicting pain on anyone; nor do I wish anyone or anything to inflict pain on me, which includes poorly made restraints. The Japanese Restraint Kit is soundly manufactured for the best comfort possible, leaving pain and skin irritations out of the picture! The rope is silky smooth, durable, and strong.
Restraint kits are either thoroughly enjoyable or downright awful, and the Japanese Restraint Kit is anything but awful. Overall, I like this kit. It's a very good starter kit, especially well suited to anyone who likes being able to escape if they become uncomfortable in a particular situation. The rope cuffs are very soft and comfortable to wear and operate kind of like a chinese finger trap - the more you tug the more stuck you get - however you can loosen it and get back out. The only downside is the blindfold. I'm not a fan of it. The front is plastic and I can see around the bottom edge, so it's not terribly effective for me. Maybe I just have a big head, though. Regardless, I think this kit is worth it even if just for the cuffs. :)

I work in an adult store, and while I personally haven't used these, I've had customers tell me that they ca easily escape from them. For some, that's a plus, as they want that "out," but for others, knowing they are completely at the mercy of their partner is much more satisfactory.

The Japanese Restraint Kit served as my introduction to anything BDSM related. At one point in my life, I was scared of BDSM-anything. Something about it scared me, but I realized that, like anything else, there are varying degrees within a BDSM lifestyle. I am in tune with my body and not interested in hurting myself or others, so extreme BDSM restraints aren't what I was looking for. I guess what I am getting at is that the Japanese Restraint Kit wasn't too over the top for me. Playing with its restraints has been more exciting, fun, and goofy than serious.

The Japanese Restraint Kit is an improvement to traditional handcuffs. I used regular handcuffs for years. Seeing as there's no point in using handcuffs that irritate my skin, I went with the silk rope restraints. It's been a positive experience for me. The wrist cuffs are tight, yet comfortable and non-irritating.
